I know this blog has suffered a lack of attention in 2011. This is due to life just going a bit crazy for a while. Blogging tends to be one of the first things to go in these cases.
Here is how early 2011 shaped up for me:
- January – February: Base training. After recovering from North Face, I spent a lot of time running slowly and going uphill. This was working out really well and resulted in a rather dramatic win at the Golden Gate 30k. I need to write up the report for that one soon.
- February – March: Unfortunately, I injured my calf at that race as well and was sidelined for the better part of two weeks. I spent two more weeks running very gingerly and before I knew it, a month of relatively little training had gone by.
- March – April: Ever since the injury, I’ve been rebuilding my strength. This weekend, I’m running the Berry Creek Falls 50k just to see where I stand. I don’t expect race but simply run.
My goal race, the Crissy Field 12 hour, was cancelled, so that’s a bit of a bummer, and I have yet to find a replacement. I’ll try to spectate at Miwok next week and tweet race updates as well (@goldentrails). It will be fun to watch the really fast guys. This is something I very much enjoyed at North Face.
That’s all for now.
Hope everyone is having a successful running season!
It’s all Good. Life’s busy like that! Hope you and Mrs. S are keepin’ busy and lovin’ life.
